There is no charge controller built into the solar panel for our Stealth Box, but it does have a blocking diode that prevents battery run-down at night. Our SolR Pro unit does come with a digital charge control built into the unit. If you're planning to leave your unit out year-round, we do recommend the SolR Pro for better efficiency and battery protection. This same charge controller could be installed into a stealth box setup for an additional $20 charge. You would need to contact Sales@Slowglow.com to have a custom unit built. Thanks for asking
